The transition from narrow AI to artificial general intelligence (AGI) isn't just a linear improvement in software; it represents a fundamental shift where the software itself begins to redesign and optimize its own cognitive algorithms, creating a rapid, runaway feedback loop of intellectual capability.
This concept of an explosive transition is both a massive economic opportunity and a terrifying safety challenge.
